Trust Schools 5 day Paris Adventure

In March 200 Year 6 pupils and 23 staff from across all our academies embarked upon a 5 day visit to Paris. The group stayed on the outskirts of the French capital in the wonderful setting of the Chateau de Grande Romaine and had a thoroughly enjoyable time. Sightseeing destinations included the Sacre Coeur, the Stade de France and of course the Eiffel Tower but perhaps the highlight was the walk along the Champs Elysees for the 200 children up to the Arc de Triomphe. The tour culminated with an exciting whole day at Disneyland topped off by watching the final parade of all the famous Disney characters.

The pupils were a huge credit to all of our academies and represented our Trust in an extremely positive manner. They should all be applauded for their behaviour and attitude and we are sure they will take away many life-long memories from the visit.

The project of taking 5 coaches and 200 pupils to another country for enjoyable and cultural experiences clearly demonstrates the Trust’s commitment to our children. It is obviously a daunting task and we believe that not many other academies would consider. It does however offer significant personal development benefits to those who are able to go and for this reason we will endeavour to maintain this opportunity in our annual calendar.

While we fully accept that our pupils need to reach their academic potential we also want to play our part in producing well rounded individuals who are respectful, adventurous and sociable.
