Safeguarding and Inclusion Officer
Grade 9 (£34,723 - £39,493 Pro rata) Pay award pending
Successful candidate to start January 2024 or earlier where possible
Based at the Future Generation Trust Office in Essington, with travel to other academies within the Trust.
We are looking to appoint an inspirational Safeguarding and Inclusion Officer who will lead and develop the strong, existing safeguarding and inclusion culture that is evident across our academies. The successful candidate will share the vision of Future Generation Trust and lead on children’s well-being, which is a fundamental aspect of our approach to teaching and learning. They will also be responsible for ensuring that the individual academies have the best possible structures in place to support highly effective Safeguarding and Inclusion.
Duties and Responsibilities
Working under the direction of the CEO and Director of Education to create, develop and implement a strategic plan designed to promote excellent provision for vulnerable children.
Deliver training and support to staff in individual academies who are responsible for Safeguarding, Inclusion, Mentoring, Pastoral and Attendance roles.
To provide support and expert advice to Headteachers on all aspects of Safeguarding and Inclusion including exclusions and admissions for hard-to-place pupils.
Develop relevant polices for the Trust in the areas of Safeguarding, Inclusion, Behaviour, Pastoral and Attendance.
Lead the development of mental health and well-being procedures for pupils across the Trust.
Work seamlessly with the SEND leads to ensure pupils with multiple vulnerabilities have the outstanding provision to ensure their needs are met and their progress and outcomes are the very best they can be.
Provide individual support to academies with specific, highly challenging pupils who meet Trust thresholds to be included on the Safeguarding and Inclusion Officer’s case load.
Collect relevant data and report to the Central Team, Governors and Trustees as appropriate.
Establish and develop robust links with all relevant external agency team managers .
This newly created post allows professional space for the successful candidate to grow and design the role in partnership with other key stakeholders.
